What measures can be implemented to reduce the energy consumption of existing stenter frames by 30%?

Drying processes
Stenter frame drying is an energy-intensive process. The majority of costs associated with a dryer are directly related to the heating of circulating air and the volume of air discharged via exhaust fans. The most effective way to save energy in the dryer is to reduce the amount of heated exhaust air.

Retrofit kit
CINTEX retrofit set are designed to deliver substantial energy cost savings for existing stenter frames.

Components
The set includes the ECO Energy Control with touch panel and sensors for the dryer's air humidity and air temperature.

Working method
The amount of exhaust air required for the drying process is regulated by exhaust fans that are operated with inverters.

Savings
Increasing the moisture content in the dryer from 60 to 100 g/kg has been shown to achieve a 30% reduction in energy consumption, accompanied by a 6% decrease in production costs.

The impressive energy savings achieved by ECO Energy Control in existing textile dryers have been proven in practice.

A further installation of the ECO EnergyControl system with industrial humidity sensor FSX on the textile dryer in Taiwan has confirmed that half of the previously used exhaust air volume of drying air heated to 200°C could be saved with automatic control. This means an energy saving of over 50% compared to the operating mode before automation.

The tests with data collection were carried out over 4 months during the regular drying and heat treatment process of polyester/synthetics, whereby the consumption data was determined during regular production operation in the original manual mode without control and additionally with automatic control of the two exhaust air fans and automatic setpoint.

This is an impressive success story of energy saving potential in existing textile dryers and must encourage textile dryer operators to take action, especially as the modest investment costs are amortized within 1-3 months through energy savings.

NEW:
ECO Energy Control
for stenter and dryer

BENEFIT FOR CUSTOMER

  • Significant energy savings
  • Considerable carbon reduction
  • Measuring and calculation of energy consumption and carbon emission
  • Auto Control Mode for Drying and Heatsetting process
  • Retrofit package for new and existing drying machines

ECO Energy Control for significant energy savings in the drying process.

With the ECO Energy Control, the heating energy used is adapted to the actual requirement by monitoring the moisture content of the exhaust air in the dryer and automatically controlling the blower speed.

In automatic control mode, the setpoint for the drying and heating process is automatically calculated from the current dryer temperature.

Additional advantage is the integrated calculation of the energy consumption and the carbon load during the drying process.

Versions:

The ECO Energy Control is available as:

EEC compact unit with integrated touch  panel 7“ for mounting at side of dryer

EEC box with extended touch panel 7“ for installation in control bridge
